I ended up paying for my education myself. While working to pay for art school I got practically adopted by my bosses who are very supportive. They even commissioned two giant paintings for their new home. They love going through my sketchbooks and discussing art with me.
To anyone whose parents ignore or belittle them reading this: work hard and be nice to your community, someone will see value in what you do
