>>5773954this is true for anyone who exclusively visits /ic/ and absolutely nothing else, most of us are aware of all the other kinds of jobs out there
I come here every day even though I know it's not good for me at all, because I see crabbing, noobs, people complaining, all that shit
Yesterday I woke up and the first thing I saw on my screen, because I had left it there the night before, was the artstation main page. Not to be cringey but my whole day played out differently than normal. I was watching a bunch of tutorials, looking through people's portfolios, being inspired and was taking in as many positive comments and affirmative progression stories there as I take in crabbing and defeatist, "blackpill" shit here.
I've only recently realised how part of making it is being surrounded, even digitally, by good influences. Even if the hugbox environment of most communities can be nauseating, actively seeing people develop and work towards actual games in the industry is so much more nourishing than wallowing in pity alongside other noobs, or even mid level artists with all the "promise and ideas" but 0 execution.
I'm gonna try to only come here a couple of times a week, and focus on other communities. If youre into games I also recommend the tigsource forums cause they have loads of devlogs and that kinda thing.
>tl;dr: get involved in better communities than /ic/ because that's just as inportant as choosing the right learning resources
