After getting proper training in drawing by somebody who knows his stuff, now I can see why this place is so shit for learning to draw.
This place is a few good advices, buried in a sea of well meant but harmful advices. And those who need those advices, cant tell which are which. Because if they could, that meant they wouldnt have needed them in the first.
Learning a skill thru anonymity is not so great, because a student who doesnt know, has to place a blind trust in his teacher. The way to build trust towards a teacher, would be to see his work. But somebody who knows his shit, doesnt usually have the time for giving advice, AND drawing something to prove himself each time.
If instead everybody would post along side his advices, one of his best work, instead of drawing something for each post, then people would just start posting their advices using other people works, to make their words have more weight.
No, this place is good for learning just for those who could have learned on their own anyway, The single good thing this forum is good for, is for finding inspiration, art books, for keeping a schedule (dad), and for shitposting in your breaks while drawing.
An /int/ can use this site for advices, because he has enough skill to tell apart the shit and the good advices, and use those advices just for second opinions.
But a /beg/? Bite the bullet and search for a good teacher, and come back when you are /int/. Only that way you can avoid wasting 10 years trying to learn to draw, and still only managing to impress normalfags. No teacher? pick up art books, and be aware it will take more time and more work to reach the same level as those with good teachers.
Anonymity is not a good skill teacher.
