Just studied for 2 years at an art academy. Couple of unspoken rules about figure drawing that might help some of you:
>Loomis, DaB, anatomy, and all that other shit is retarded. Just observe and it'll come naturally. Study anatomy only if you want a surgically precise figure.
>Only draw soft and loose from the shoulder with the initial gesture. After that, draw from the wrist and press that pencil onto the fucking paper as hard as you can, being as slow and deliberate as possible.
>The order of shit goes: LoA > simple gesture > more complex gesture > specific details > rendering. Fuck skeletons and mannequins.
>When observing, constantly consider horizontal placement, vertical placement, and angle of any given point.
>Hands are easy if you aren't retarded but faces are indeed a bitch and they require a separate skill entirely.
