Grab a color wheel, opposite of orange is purple.
They look good together

The purple light is rim light, not reflected light. Reflected light is light that bounces off of another object/surface. Like when you stand next to a bright red wall in the sun, your skin will be tinted with red light. Also this did not need its own thread buddy.

It's literally rim light, albeit poorly done and too dim. Reflected light is much more diffuse and wouldn't just look like a stripe of light along a contour.
