I just can't draw eyes lads. Everytime I draw a nonsensical polygon with no logic whatsoever. Please post pretty eyes that you like and I'll attempt to draw them and you'll attempt to draw them. Thank you.

Op here. There have been thunderstorms for the past day so I got fucked. I managed to draw jinx's eye from the picture.
What makes them pretty? They are large and the eyelashes seem to have makeup. I copied the shape but I don't know what makes it appealing. The eyes are 3D objects and the light coming from above casts a shadow on the top part of the eyeball. The outline of the iris is dark. She is angery which makes the top part of her eye go down in a cartoonish and pretty way.

eyes are always hard to draw. there's too much subtleness involved, just like hands, but I think what really makes or breaks them is how well you can illustrate the eyelid curvature
also, I'm not sure those thick contours you went for is the best approach when drawing eyes. I think it's best to draw a bunch of curved lines close to one another instead of a single bold contour

I must be really bad at that. Every time I try to capture how the eye looks like but it comes out fucked. I search for where the highest and lowest part of the eyelids are, but when I try to fit them together it makes no sense. I wasn't even able to make another decent eye so I didn't post.

remember to draw the eyeball first, anon. you draw a sphere, then you place the eyelids wrapping around it like in that rightmost sketch I posted

First you learn how an eye is constructed, learn to draw the components that make up an eye, eyeball, iris, eyelids etc. Draw the contours on your references to understand the shapes if necessary. And only after that do you look at eyes you think are pretty and apply what you've learned to study your reference.
Anything other than my advice is a waste of your time.

It might help you to not just draw the eye but draw an eye within an eye socket, that should help a bit with visualizing it.
