>>5754137So i was thinking about that /meta/ thread and how ass backwards it is.
First, I'm an oldfag and been on this site for 15+ years.
If there's one constant among all boards its the overarching cynicism and hypercritical misanthropy that is imbued in 4chan.
If you combine those things with art making, it's not good. There's nothing that's going to stop the inflow of "failed" artists that have fallen into this pit of self-pity and choose to take it out on others.
There's tropes that begin to form that at the end of the day that just make for bad content for the creativity process. (ie crabs in a bucket mentality, seeing art as a purely monetary goal, seeing success as purely monetary, art is purely a grind etc)
Trying to police threads you *think* are the issue will do nothing. It's the mindset that needs to change, and that is something you can't change unless through subtle psyops.
If we all wanted /ic/ to change, what would need to happen would be some hivemind bullshit. Right now the incentive of posting your work on this board is net negative because all you get are crab responses, because no one wants to spend the time to actually give crit or point out what they like about work, 90% of the time. You need forward momentum in a creative endeavor, compliments do that. It really is just a thing of this board needing to turn hugbox levels at least a little bit.
Anyway thats all i got for now
