>>5752927A lot of them have this fervent, desperate, pleading desire to be able to draw "anime". So they only watch anime, they only look at anime, they only follow anime artists, and they only attempt to study from anime.
Their art inevitably comes out shit, and they can never understand why 5+ years onwards they are making the same fundamental mistakes over and over again, producing the same unappealing art, when they spend all their studying from their favourite Trigger/Konosuba animators.
Their brains haven't yet made the connection that in order to draw successfully stylised humans, they must first study from real humans, from the real world, and not caricatures of them. They sincerely believe that all their Jap idols have never studied Hampton or Bridgman, or done a still life, experimented with mixed media, charcoal, gouache, oils, attended a life drawing class, or an atelier. They truly believe their faves only draw anime, or have only ever draw anime, and believe that copying them will achieve the same results. Or, even worse, they do know, but actively choose to reject it.
This is because for them, failing at something one thousand times over and over again is somehow less painful than just sitting down for one hour out of their day and studying from something that doesn't immediately trigger an erection.
So they'll just keep on drawing "anime".
