Biggest problem with this line of reasoning is that if you're able to get enough photos of a subject to make photogrammetry of it you might as well just snap one photo from the angle you want and reference that.
3D scanning is more like photobashing for 3DCG and it's already widely used in that industry. It's not that useful for 2D artists.

It will become easier to find the image on the internet that works for what you want, leave 3d scanning work for the rest of the people just like we already do for photos. Unless you're one of those weirdos traveling half the world to take photos for your work
