Being a Vtuber is pretty much essential now if you're gonna draw, otherwise be on camera or never get out of viewers. It doesn't matter if you're Leonardo himself; you can see right now hundreds of talented artists on twitch live if you change from low to high streaming to nobody.
You'll regularly get a genuine sub/follow and that dedicated guy who stops by every time you go live. But for the most part unless you are a Vtuber you're almost always getting followed by bots.
AT THE VERY LEAST have a quality microphone setup. If you're not willing to take the part of shizo and talk all the time to yourself then people will tune out. Your viewers watch you for you and then your art. Above all, live streaming should just be an extension of your brand and not your brand. It's not a ticket for more followers, again you'll be stuck at 0-1 viewers thinking it is.
