If you want to draw from imagination, you need to learn how to draw form and more specifically, figure drawing. Instead of copying an image, you should try to break it down into its most basic forms, like a mannequin. You'll also have to learn some perspective. Don't worry about anatomy until you've mastered the mannequin. If in doubt, just use Boxman
