Started drawing last year and I want to buy a screen tablet for my birthday which is around black Friday
Tried doing my own research but I feel like most of what I've seen are ads so I want to hear from actual artists what they use and why

If what you said is true, then I recommend against getting a tablet and just focus on paper until you are out of /beg/ginner zone or you get the hangs of fundamentals.
And for tablets, anything else that isn't wacom or apple (which are expensive) is pure garbage so you would have to test your experience and don't go crazy in your first buy, begin safe with a screenless tablet to get the idea of your digital tools and then you decide if you want to invest in something better or just decide to call it quits.

Do you want an all-in-one tablet that you can use without a computer, or are you looking for a display tablet like a monitor you can draw on?

Do you have any price limit or size preference? Some people don't like tablets that are too small or too huge.

Op, Im a traditional sketcher and tried sooo many drawing tablets. Wacom intuos (nonscreen) never worked for me, I got a few Chinese one on amazon with a screen and the quality was very poor even though the big screen size was nice. I then got a cintique 10inch but it was trash for me, glued to my pc was not fun.

Im very anti apple but ended up getting an ipad pro 12inch and procreate, fantastic experience. Highly recommend.

All that said, focus on your hand drawing skills, the tablet can breed bad habits, paracticing on paper will tighten your techniques.

i fell for the wacom schizo and got a cintiq 16 as my dt, with my only other dt being a shitty 30 dollar screenless off amazon. from what I've heard, imo, the difference between a wacom vs any similar xp pen, huion, etc is so negligible that only the people already skilled to the point of being able to feel the 10-15% difference will make any use of it

but id say go for it op drawing digitally is fun af

At that price range your best bet is 12"-16" huion or xp pen display tablets during black friday or cyber monday sales. Maaaaybe you could find a Wacom One display tablet at 50% off during the sales at some point, probably that would be an Amazon thing.

If you can find a galaxy tab S6 or S6 lite for that price on sale I guess you could use that with Superdisplay to make it act like a display tablet.

I can attest to this. I started out with a cheap huion that I bought back in 2016. I somehow lost the pen (still havent found it) and I said fuck it, after 5 years of use I can justify the upgrade instead of getting another pen. Got the Wacom Intuos Pro M, which is very expensive for a screenless tablet. Turns out that the Wacom feels exactly the same. The touch functionality is badly implemented that you end up having to turn it off anyways, because it will register your palm sometimes while drawing and move the canvas around. I don't regret it, it's still a good tablet and I can easily afford it, but I don't feel like I upgraded from my old Huion, aside that the tablet feels a little bit more responsive and a little bit better built, but then again, I am comparing it to a 80€ Huion that I bought 5 years ago. Can't speak for the screen devices though

Honestly XpPen's 12" 2nd gen display tablet is on sale right now and it's the same quality, I'd go with that over the wacom one if you don't want to double your budget.
