How do i get better at construction if i can't draw forms. i need help. i'm getting filtered by the foot.

its okay to use reference, just learn to measure more

maybe learn more perspective then
can't tell you it'll give you immediate results, but it'll help
remember to draw through your forms as well
i think product designers are also really good at showing how to learn to draw forms from

What happens when you come up with your own perspective? I'd imagine you still need reference, but is there any method for fitting it into your composition?

i would try to construct simple objects with simple geometric forms first and then build up from there

You seem to at least attempt construction drawing which is good. I'm /beg/ too, try drawing basic shapes and practicing line control, give your lines and shapes more confidence.

i worked on mine later. i'm not that happy with my tools and pens in general. i'm kinda compensating with line art. it's kinda hard to sketch with pressure sensitivity turned on. for some reason.

I'd say work smaller and do a fuckton of thumbnails, easier for making grids and using vanishing points, then you pick a quick comp you like and use it as a base for your sketching stage, that way you focus in the quality of your lines instead of trying to tackle 2 things at once. Eventually you don't need perspective grids or too much info in the canvas but it'll make you feel more confident about what's working and what isn't.

Work with pencil and paper in the beginning anon. Your cylinders feel like you were drawing rectangles in your head. Put contour lines everywhere. Make crosssections,give corners. Try Huston.
