Was always that guy in high school that could draw "pretty well." Never had any formal training, but would save drawings and reference photos I liked, and draw random characters. Sketched a little bit in college, and got some commissions to do album art for friends. However, I've never seen my art as anything close to great. It's always seemed kind of amateur. Meanwhile, I see what professionals are created and am blown away by their level of detail and mastery. Despite having years of experience practicing, I feel like I've ignored theory and discipline. I never took art courses in college. How the fuck do I actually get myself in the mentality to practice and apply myself, and to actually become better. Mostly focused on digital, but can go back to pen and paper easily.

I saw that video course thread up and was wondering how people who aren't complete beginners go back into fundamentals. Any advice? Sorry if this is more just ranting. I don't mean to plug myself but I was gonna post some art to show where my skill is at.
