I have carpal tunnel/thumb base injury, so I wont be able to draw for half a year. Do you have any alternative hobbies to drawing that will help my drawing skills in the future?

Look up some blender tutorials for sculpting then you can practice sculpting in blender. There's also nomad sculpt for mobile devices where you can use your index finger to sculpt things

Zeronis' tutorial at Class101 teaches you how to draw with your fingers. He also injured his wrist (permanently I think) so he continued his art career by finger drawing.

Personally I never like his drawings...

His tutorial requires you to have an ipad and procreate drawing app.
There's also CSP on ipad but it uses a recurring fee instead of a one time purchase

I haven't tried the tutorial myself but I'm guessing the finger drawing skill that he teaches would be transferable to an android tablet and app. I dunno

I might buy an ipad, but I'd rather use my surface pro if possible. Paint lets you draw with your fingers but CSP doesn't.

using a mouse/keyboard instead will just prolong/fuck your recovery. Find something that doesnt fuck with your wrists.
You can paint on large canvases, as long as you work from the shoulder and find a good grip.

Have you tried Medibang Paint? I only tried it on my phone but it seemed totally workable to do rough finger sketches. The dev claimed that the mobile version and PC version works roughly the same so the touch control should be better with surface pro

Jeez you somehow reminded me of Shiro Kotobuki. He got in a traffic accident that crippled him from the neck down but he loves drawing cute girls so much he learned to draw using his freakin mouth. After that he became Konami's lead concept artist, yeah weird story

No crab, but I doubt it. He is a Japanese who is probably a turbo autist. Too lazy to look him up but maybe he also already knew the concepts of drawing, and just had to relearn how to maneuver the pen using different muscles.
