For example, there was this music band I was fond of for a big part of my life. One day, the singer beat his wife to death and I wasn't able to listen to their song since. From time to time, I can listen to one song, in private and with headphones, because I don't want to promote this guy anymore, I don't want to support him and his art. I don't want to censor him though nor prevent others to listen to his music but I think that's important to remind people that he killed someone and ask them if they want to finnancially support a killer.
Same for Picasso (there was a thread about that some days ago). Nobody said we should stop to exhibit his art (only the right-wing fantasizes about it), but it's important to remind that the guy was an asshole. Because his personal life can explains things about his art.
