>>5739922Go read Atomic Habits and put it into practice. Good book. I have other stuff in my notion based on that book. The key is to build up drawing as a habit, as something that you are compelled to do, even when you do not feel like it. You don't need to block out your entire day's schedule, but I recommend reserving time for when you are going to work on your art ahead of time. Then when the time comes, set a timer and do it. I like to use pomodoro timers, helps me just get started (kind of related to the 3-2-1 principle). I do that for my WFH and grad school studies too. The point is, pick a time dedicated to drawing and do it.
The course that Marshall Vandruff shills all the time on draftsmen (The Psychology of Performance from The Great Courses) is unironically good. I recommend it. You can think about art or any other skill based thing in terms of sports, which is the main focus of that course as he's a sports psychologist. I also enjoyed reading Mastery by Leonard.
How much time do you spend doing mindless stuff like browsing Youtube, 4chan, and social media? If you drew for an hour more and did less of stuff like browsing 4chan, which you and I are both doing now, your quality of life would be better. Your skill in art would improve. Think about the cost of continuing to pour a bunch of time into things like that. There's good stuff on /ic/ sometimes, sure, but not enough that you need to be here everyday.
