Best mechanic pencils/pencils for sketchbooks?
I've been sketching with 0.7 ballpoint pens and want to try sketching looser with graphite too.

Are prisma pencils worth it for sketching? Saw some artists using it in the Trojan Horse Was A Unicorn and it looked fun.

Regular Prismacolor pencils aren’t very erasable but sure. Inthink their verithin pencil is especially for sketching. I can’t really get prismacolors in my country without paying out the ass for them but a friend who went on vacation in murrica brought me back a set. As for regular graphite pencils I like tombow monograph and staedtler lumographs best. For mechanical pencils and clutch pencils it’s whatever, they all work imo.

Prismacolor Col-Erase they can be erased decently and i quite enjoy them more than regular ones

i use pentel graph-600 and graphgear 1000 the have good weight and durable

I would recommend the Zebra M-301 0.5mm mechanical. It's shorter, but I tend to like that in drawing utensils. Regular Pentel SUPER HB lead is fine (and cheap). For finer details I have a Pentel GraphGear 800 at 0.3mm. It's not that great for general drawing but is good for smaller details. It's a much heavier pencil than my Zebra tho. Weight is up to you. Most art stores have paper pads out and they let you test the pencils in store before you buy.

I don't know what exactly it is about these pencils that I love so much but they're my go to for lazy sketching or just having actual fun while drawing. they're versatile, extremely cheap and aren't super special secret artist pencils but they're perfect, I promise. use a mono plastic eraser too.

These beauties are worth your money. They are a marvel to the hand, its weight makes it useful for long strokes and precision.

It's pricey but I like it. Shame it broke after a year of use. Maybe it was my fault (fell off the desk several times)

In the end the pencil doesn't matter a lot, what you have to take in mind is the toughness and the caliber of the lead. You might end up preferring wider/slimer grip pencils or heavier/lighter weights, the art it's in the hands of the drawer
