Good artists of IC, does spending hours on painting makes you underappreciated it?

When making good painting, do you start to underappreciate it or get less excited about it the more you paint it? Lets say after 12 hours or so?

For me is doing the concept, I don't have to figure out anything other than some of the vague silhouette and the composition (which is the best part), after that is just going on and on with refining the piece until I get to general rendering. I find enjoyment in that process because I can go over it the times that I want.
You talk about hours spent and well, at least in my case, shit takes me a week if it's a thing I personally am inspired to do, I don't actually now at what time the excitement gets diluted.
