How does the rough texture compare? I was thinking of getting smooth so my nibs don't wear out in case all protective covers I try get fucked up.
BTW, I found a 3D printed alternative on Shapeways that is apparently inbetween the regular plastic and felt in feel. Author says it needs a little smoothing with sandpaper to fit the pen, but seems very affordable. They even ship to my eurotrash door so it seems ideal.
