1: when coloring a traditional sketch that's scanned in, don't use fill tool. Make a color layer, set it to multiply
2: Use whatever colors you want
3: make a new top layer, select inside of drawing and fill it in with a single color
4: lower opacity or set the blend mode to something.
extra: mess with contrast and brightness with your color layer to get cool effects
I doubt OP drew the original image but I hope this helps someone.
