that said yeah drawing inspiration from art is not a big secret
even tracing is acceptable for begs to get a feel for lines and forms but you have to pay attention to learning instead of just aping
at some point you will have to make the jump from art to reality/reference once you have the necessary skill set to translate forms by sight and feel, the biggest step is drawing from blank memory and even the best artists struggle sometimes to fill that gap
