It's not just fujos because yuri and straight ships blow up in the right places too, but I think ship art is mostly for women. They're interested in the relationships between characters for various reasons, and building any kind of narrative in your art always helps to garner interest. Goku alone might not give people much to engage with beyond a glance, but Goku fucking Vegeta in the ass gives people something to sink their teeth in to. Also the internet is full of horny people and sometimes they like their porn to have a very specific cast I guess.
