Style, but I like the take in the animation.
It's a little bit softer on the eyes.
The Toriyama style is very cool but the contrast makes my eyes bleed.
Picrel is what I love.

Stylistic choices are often too subtle to really say in words. you could talk about the mix of angular and round shapes, the earthier more natural colors, and the 3-4 layers of shading but its the subtle details that make the difference.

generic as fuck answer, it is obvious the style does what it wants look at ops pic, it looks like it has 3 light sources when in reality it should had one. Artist does what he things looks appealing, in this style is making characters glossy but square-ish like those glass bricks.
