>>5129896The literal "secret" is just straight up work ethic. Learning to make art effectively is simply work. Most people don't want to go home and work after putting in a 40hr work week.
We do not value art education in the west as an investment. We value it as a luxury. We just expect a handful of us to magically "have the eye"

You cant mold a mind that's already poured in concrete. As a pro level artist, I don't teach for the very reason they don't teach jedi after childhood. People are not willing to learn at the subconscious level because it requires unlearning your preconceptions, thus forcing you to accept a view of the world and one's self outside their own established one... a safe space, if you will.
It's not so much about how old a person is. I know and have mentored retirement age folks who made mad gains because they are willing to reframe their perception of the world and accept that their guidance will be beyond their understanding at the time.
Neither genetics or intelligence are real factors in determining whether you can git gud. I coached most of my /beg friends to /int through one figure drawing class, even the one's that "cant draw" can do it.
Pro tip: Holy shit. Stop drawing anime you fucking morons. Do life drawing and actually learn something.
