I was kind of shitting on zedig, to be honest, and this other anon told me I knew nothing about art and to post my work, and was making a bunch of posts about how he was a way better artist than me, so I posted a sketch (I'm a mediocre pro), and it was apparently better than this anon's work, because he posted the mercwip image to back up his bragging about how good he was. Other people in the thread started laughing at the guy for boasting so much and then posting mercwip as an example of how good he was, and when it came out that he wasn't even the original artist, it was even more funny. To be honest, my sketch was probably worse. That's how the whole tradition of posting mercwip when someone tells you to post your work started. I'm both proud and embarrassed to have been a part of it.
