It was very good. It did its own thing, it didn't try to either copy other Batman cartoons nor did it try to be an exact negative of others (like Beware The Batman did)
It was its own take on Batman, and it did a good job

Exactly. People at the time complained that it went on its own route instead of being a BTAS copy. It was a shame.

I'm glad it has been getting recognition in the recent years. Also, I just love Batman's cape in that show.

Been watching it on HBOMax since it was on it. It's good but also a bit repetitive since they use the same villains too many times. Also think it was a mistake of getting rid Ellen the female cop, she was a good character also had a connection with Clayface who was well done, haven't seen him show up either in season 2 either. Overall so far I give it a 7/10. It's good with some really good moments, but a little too inconsistent at times.

It did its own thing which was nice. Villains like Mr.Freeze post BTAS and Joker were a nice change of pace. Something I wish the show had more of though was episodes not about a specific villain of the week. S1 was peak

Everyone shat on "Rasta-Joker" at the time, but I always thought it was obvious his hair was supposed to be like a jester hat, which I liked.
Firefly was cool, I really dug the lasers and the insect-noises his jetpack made.
Harley was cute and stacked. Was this the first time Hynden Walch voiced her? I wish she was the spiritual successor to Harley instead of Tara.

I never watched it before this past year. It was okay. DCAU, Brave and the Bold, and Beware were better, but it did a better "toyetic Batman" than those shitty Unlimited movies/shorts.

Much preferred Walch as Harley. Don't think she did the voice before but she was Starfire and some other DC characters before The Batman

I liked their version of the Joker. I always found the comic character to be visually boring. I heard there was some embargo going on at the time it came out as to what villains could and could not be used.

I think Clayface had a storyline similar to Two-Face's in TDK. That was wild.
