I have never liked the concept of batgirl or anything about the character. It’s all so redundant and lame. Batman should really work alone, but okay, i’ll accept robin. He grows on you and bruce taking on an adopted son with all his issues about losing people he starts to care about is good character development. But then do we really need like 5 little bat minions running around like some sort of autistic daycare? It ruins his mystique and image enough having one sidekick never mind a franchise of bat people running around acting cringe. And really how is barbara going to fend off armed men and shit? If bruce is worried about robin being hurt I suspect his gang rape alarm bells would be going off sending some teenage girl who isn’t even muscular and is a loser nerd into the absolute shithole that is gotham every night. Her design while good is also way too intentionally stylistic in a way that just makes her look like a marketing gimmick or action figure rather than an organic part of the world or someone trying to sneak around and fight crime, like she’s trying to market her whole “batgirl” image. Having her become a cripple was a positive move from there, but we already have alfred as the guy in batman’s ear telling him shit. I guess alfred is old so maybe she can be batman’s replacement receptionist or whatever and maybe even his butler, but it just seems like both robin and alfred make her redundant. She’s always making everything too busy. Not to mention the weirdness of bruce fucking gordon’s daughter in some versions. So no I won’t see it and this is autistic but I might rub fish paste into the seats in the cinema during showings as a sort of protest, it’s so hard to get out of fabric and stinks
