They spent too much money on it to just can it entirely, I can see it going direct to streaming without any buzz at worst desu. But its more profitable for them to try and fix Ezras public imagine than it is to can the entire movie.

Its because all of these studios are realizing that the "direct to streaming" model isn't working

Meanwhile Spider-Man crushed everyone *in theaters* proving that the pandemic won't keep everyone away from going out if there's a movie they want to see.

Movies released direct to DisneyPlus, HBOMax, ParamountPlus, Peacock, have all operated at a loss.

I'm just wondering how they're going to handle Keaton as Batman now that Affleck is seemingly out of the picture and this movie seems to be coming out before The Flash.

It's also incredibly meta and topical, since in this instance Ezra seems to be playing both the hero and the villain in different ways which is similar to how The Flash is supposed to play out
