Persis Khambatta is the actress' name, she was in the first Star trek movie and Perez is a nerd. All the "ugly Raven" panels people cite as Perez raven being ugly are intentional, by the way; Perez started drawing her more pronounced cheekbones and a reader asked if she was meant to look more demonic; Wolfman and Perez liked the idea so overtime her face got more gaunt and her hairline pronounced.
