However, Paulo has always been a fairly popular character. Him being SO hung up on one girl when he literally wants to fuck with everyone, easily can flirt with males and females alike and so easily seems to catch feelings for people seems odd.
Not to mention, he often tends to forget things or brush people aside. If this WASN'T being written by someone with the mental capacity of a brain-damaged 2nd grader you would see Paulo as a flakey guy with both commitment and abandonment issues.
It would make more sense to have commitment issues because he'd push people away before they had a chance to hurt him. That is a typical male trait, to bottle stuff up, to be stoic and emotionally distant.
Instead he almost always acts like an 11 year old girl on her period in almost every emotional scenario. He screams and cries and yells insults and whines then quickly at breakneck speed forgives whomever even if they've taken a giant steaming shit on him. Never ever, ever does he fail to do this, zero exception or growth.
Then people praise Taeshi for Paulo giving people hollow forgiveness as being """mahture" failing to see how toxic a mentality like that is.
