If it's Desire then that character was always non binary. They call it sister-brother in the books.

The real question is how they handle the tranny in the second book. A bunch of women have to do some stuff with the moon and the tranny is explicitly blocked from going.

Not really. They changed her height and facial features all the time. She only consistently looked like her in terms of skin and hair color, so you can quit the bullshit and just admit you're uncomfortable seeing black people on TV. Yes. Sandman seems like an absolute nightmare to adapt. You could get the best people for the job and give them years to work on it and there's a good chance it would still come out fucked.
Hopefully the diverge from the comic far enough that I can think of it as its own seperate thing.
