What makes Zee great isn't her outfits, it's her personality.
She's vastly more interesting and entertaining than mainstream Zatanna has ever been. Spoiled rich alpha bitch with narcissism is a great take on her character, and more than that, it plays directly into her powers. She can literally make ANYTHING happen if she says her spells backwards. She's theoretically got unlimited power. What kind of personality do you THINK a girl like that would have? She'd be a narcissist, she'd be vain, she'd be a Stacy, she'd be every dominating popular girl trope under the sun.
This is what makes Zee great, and it's what the comics only rarely have hinted at.
Zatanna should be DC's magical Tony Stark. A preening, larger-than-life prima donna whose problems are largely of her own making because her literal omnipotence gets thrown around too casually because she's a vain, spoiled Stacy. But she's also a COMPETENT Stacy, so she always manages to clean up her own messes, and manages to defeat a few threats to all of reality along the way, too.
That's what Zatanna SHOULD be. Faust got it. Why doesn't DC get it?
Oh also she should canonically have one of the fatter asses in DC. Another thing DC should steal from the show.
