This isn't the 60s anymore, issues faced by minorities don't need allegories because minorities can be casted for the roles, and stories can be covered directly with them without any subtext.

The whole minority allegory would be kino if played properly idk what everyone else is smoking, the issue will be them half assing it and just tossing a bunch of minorities in or just having "empowering" moments. All I really want is fun X-Men stories that highlight characters who aren't wolverine and I feel like the MCU can pull that part off

The movies will be about the "main' X-Men. Professor X, Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Storm, Beast, Rogue. Emma Frost joins the team after being redeemed in the first movie in which they face off against the Hellfire Club.
Excalibur will be formed out of the MI13 movie and get their own show, this is where you get Nigihtcrawler and Kitty Pryde.
New Mutants will be the "X-Men Hogwarts" show and get multiple seasons. We'll get Magik, Cypher and Warlock from this.
If they really want to get ballsy, they can make a Deapdool and Cable show with age restriction like the former Netflix shows.
The X-Men movies will eventually culminate in Dark Phoenix, after which they will adapt Krakoa and bring Jean back to life with the clone pods.
Black Panther 3 will be about Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda and we'll get to see Storm take over Mars and we'll get to see space mutants interact with space Wakandans.

And my point is that dealing with a minority allegory is pointless since there are plenty of the genuine article to cast and address these issues directly. Why the fuck would you bother making a story that tiptoes around issues regarding minorities using characters and parallels that are wholly inappropriate, when you can have actual minorities do the job and drive the point home a lot more clearly?

The X-Men seem to make more sense as an allegory to youth. The young can be both beneficial and malevolent, and their ideas can change society for the better or worse.

Then again, why do the X-Men have to be an allegory in the first place? The idea of mutants, IIRC, had more to do with creators not wanting to create unique origins for powers.

Exactly this. In the 90s Stan Lee tried to make it sound "deep" by comparing Xavier and Magneto to MLK and Malcolm X and people suddenly pretended that's what it was from the start.

Never mind that comparison makes no fucking sense if you have any meaningful knowledge of who Malcolm and Martin were.

Yeah, I think they were going for more of a “strange youths interacting with normies” thing with the original X-Men, especially since Kirby seemed to like this theme. I could see hippies and the teen counter-culture being a strong influence, but not so much MLK and Malcolm X.
