Inferno clearly wasn't how Hickman intended to end things. It makes zero sense given everything else he wrote. He probably had an actual ending in mind but it removed Krakoa, so editorial forced him to write something else that allowed Krakoa to continue, and that's how we got Inferno.

The problem isn't that Machines win in the end. It's that mutants ALWAYS lose. the end of earth is basically a phalanx (a super conglomeration of technology residing inside of black holes) chooses to assimilate earth and all of it's people. All humans are merged into the phalanx and the spirit of the species continues on as it becomes part of the collective. Mutant kind is rejected from the 'ideal' of the phalanx and the machine refuses to assimilate them. Moira wanted to cure the muties so they could join the phalanx.

I think she wanted to end the mutant race peacefully by curing them, because that would stop them from always getting killed by machines.

We really don't know, the incursions and the multiversal collapse haven't been mentioned a lot since the Ultimates and Contest of Champions ended and at least I don't remember any references to any of that in HoX PoX or Hickman's X-Men book.

Saturnyne was in charge of Otherworld because of Secret Wars and the Captain Britain Corps was still dead because if it until X of Swords brought a new Corps
