>>130191972Honestly, when it came to the show that made me really successful, i did really minimal research and even got a lot of stuff wrong in the first video. people were super nice and chill about it though, and just gave me the hints I needed to get more info to the point where I'm considered a resource on lore now. I know people think of youtube fandoms as cringe, but they're a lot more helpful then on 4chan, as much as i love its anonymity.
one piece of advice I can give I suppose is to think about what kind of content different kind of fans want. Lore videos are great for helluva boss, but for me, they didn't take off for vox machina videos, as that fandom is more interested in the voice actors than the lore. Other shows do better if you focus on shipping.
if you're not putting out at least one video every week you're not gonna make it.
