I've understood why more people are drawn to anime than cartoons.

Cartoons seem unattractive because they have some of the most ugliest male characters.
There's just a handful of shows that put effort into making characters visually appealing. Sure you can look past the God awful simpsons art styles for the story telling but we often judge a book by its cover. It seems creators would rather pick an artsyle that looks ugly but unique over something visually appealing.

I don't think anyone would look at fairveiw's thumbnail and decide its something to watch.
