Fantastic Planet is a film from 1973 directed by René Laloux. Adult, serious, filled with horrific scenes of aliens gassing human beings, poking and prodding them, like kids playing with ants. It's a surrealistic acid trip of a movie with a great jazzy soundtrack. You can watch it on Youtube, or a digital restoration on Criterion Channel. It won the Grand Prix special jury prize at Cannes.
