Things don't need to be "better" or transcendentally "Good": just more memorable.

The batcave for instance was adapted into the comics from the very first Batman films. The Columbia movie serials introduced it because they had a cave set to use.

I sometimes wonder what Bruce Timm actually thinks about Harley Quinn turning from Joker's fun henchman/foil with a strong sarcastic streak to a meme manic pixie dream girl that has absolutely nothing to do with the original character and doesn't even wear the fucking costume.

Not really, I'd say. In that movie, while she was "the good girl" as the studio mandated, she still acted at least somewhat like Harley from the TV show. She was a brat, but not a loud and glamorized one.

Before BTAS Mr. Freeze was a goofy gimmick character with no motivation beyond "MWA HA HA I SHOOT YOU WITH MY ICE GUN AND ROB BANKS", not exactly hard to improve on.

Yeah, but BTAS freeze feels like he should be a one and done thing. There's not really anywhere to go with him because everytime a writer tried to change his status quo it would never stick.

That was a BtAS problem for making Nora not dead.
Their own natural progression should have been to make him either neutral or friendly to Batman whilst sitting in the Arctic rather than become a spider.

I like the idea of Harley breaking out in her own terms, Bruce set her up falling. People just having hard time writing her getting up part. Some take it to the extreme. Either has to be super good and right or totally fixed and already moved on lie in the movie, or some worst cases just edgy/quirky.

It’s nice to see a person grow and make mistakes. I heard recent comics ain’t so bad.

In order for it to work you would need Harley to try to emulate being a feminist and fail. Like she starts serial killing because there are no female serial killers (inb4 i get ackshullied) and then failing to kill people. Or some shit I dont know remember humor?
