>>130180933>With Saint Seiya they are partly-indirectly responsible for a lot of the calc and statement wank we see in verses nowadays, but that's more from a handful of salty autists opening the floodgates. SS fags used to be the bane of Z tards' existence.I was never that much into Saint Seiya, but I always thought that DC/Marvel comics and that manga/anime in particular were just stupid chuunibyou wank that didn't make sense. In the field of videogames and novels, it's Umineko, SMT, and Dies Irae. On books, it's obviously Lovecraft. All of those verses have extremely such high powerlevels, but they are written lazily or executed horribly.
The problem with Dragon Ball anime, or other popular shounen like KnY, is that they actually try to show the powerlevels in motion. While Seiya, Dies Irae, Umineko, and comics just have characters standing around and spoonfeeding chunnibyou powerwank statements to the audience.
Then you got Jojo, in which its characters barely move and fight "powerpoint slideshow" style, but surprisingly aren't as broken as Seiya, SMT, Umineko, DC, and other verses I mentioned before (outside of Pucci and the non-canon Dio BLANCO). So now their fans got to overcompensate by making up lies, to catch up with Seiya, SMT, and other IPs.
