>>130164496Literally every bad DC movie would've been improved by being set in an established universe and WB have been utter fools not to do so. They don't even have the excuse of Marvel because they've owned every DC character since 1973.
And I don't mean "DC should've baited spinoffs in every movie" because they already half-assedly did that as far back as Batman Returns. I mean establishing the DC Universe as a setting for their movies and making it as well-known as something like Middle Earth. DC is an alternate universe where Marvel isn't, Marvel heroes live in New York, DC heroes live in Gotham or Metropolis. It's a serperate world and DC could've made that world into a brand instead of depending on goodwill from the Michael Keaton Batman era in the current year.
>Steel could've been set in a post-Superman Metropolis and could've had a backdrop of dead heroes.>Jonah Hex could've been set in 1800s Gotham if they were already going to had supernatural horror elements>Green Lantern's villain could've been Lobo or Zod or Starro instead of a boring cloudIt wouldn't have fixed the movies, but it probably would've inspired a certain amount of quality control from WB if all of these were part of one brand from the beginning.
