It's a general issue where society will look at lesbians and think either "That's cute" or "that's hot" while they'll look at gay guys and think "ew they probably stick their dicks in their butts".
It's a mix of toxic masculinity (thinking that dudes shouldn't present a "receiving" end of love or be "effeminate" in a relationship) and the inability to separate sexuality from sex.
Like, obviously, two gay dudes holding hands and kissing doesn't automatically mean they're doing hardcore buttstuff every night. But it's the thought that pops into a lot of people's heads when they see man on man PDA.
When they do exist, it's often in situations where they aren't gonna ever kiss on screen or anything, like gay dads that clearly are close but won't go making out in front of their kid.
Basically, lesbians are more "palatable" so they get approved more easily.
