>>130153202>Why hasn't more been done with this property?So, just so everyone is aware, the original Jonny Quest was very popular but was also attacked by parent groups in the 60's for being too violent (I know, it seems quaint now but in 1964 there was nothing like this on TV) so HB basically cancelled it in favor of less controversial shows like Scooby Doo. Culture moves on and by the 1980's you have G.I. Joe and Rambo cartoons on TV so Jonny Quest goes through a little revival in the mid 80's. The problem then though (and now) is in a way it's not exiting enough anymore.
Jonny Quest stories are all about that mid century era sense of adventure and exploration. It's cut from the same cloth as HG Welles, Jules Verne, Fantastic Four, Thunderbirds and Indiana Jones. Jonny Quest is total pulp fiction. For whatever reason, Pulp is not in fashion right now. The MCU is popular and whatever it is it's not pulp.
The last serious attempt was Real Adventures and (although pretty good) it got cancelled in favor of Beast Wars.
