Weren't the little green aliens just toys made for Pizza Planet, a restaurant franchise related to Buzz Lightear only as far as both are sci-fi space wars in aesthetic?

Pizza Planet did a sponsorship for Buzz Lightyear and in return their space aliens were put in the cartoon based on the toy to help advertise the pizza chain.

It's pretty common for restaurants to have toys from other franchises if it fits into their theme, or sometimes even if it doesn't
I've seen many a pokemon or minion plushie in those claw machines

If you look closely the logo on their spacesuit is just a pizza with a Saturn ring around it. Pretty sure they're some Pizza Planet mascot.

Lightyear coming out doesn’t mean that this isn’t still canon. Lightyear is the in canon ‘mature’ film reboot made for nostalgic millennials like Andy who grew up watching the Star Command cartoon. It’s basically like the GI Joe movies versus the cartoons.

I swear someone at Pixar either Lasseter or Pete Docter had said ages ago that Buzz was one of those properties where all the media was greenlit at the same time like the video game Rex plays, the cartoon, and the fast food tie ins, but the toys just happened to come out the earliest.
