>>130151998The logic is correct, the chances of them coming to the city were far greater. You stay by the tall tree instead of wandering through the forest if you want to be found. It just wouldn't have held up because of reasons like "why not send out notices to the villages" "why not go for searching expeditions and tell the city guards to be on the lookout for any humans, and if found send them to Andrias who will tell them to stay put until she returns"
Those are reasons that are still standing, and this cut was an attempt at assuaging them - but it actually only highlights them. So they chose to ignore it altogether instead.
Because realistically they should have at the very least have had people on the road pointing out Anne and telling her Newtopia's looking for her the second they stepped out the valley, but that would have Matt's version of Marcy's cool reveal.
And then there's just the usual show's avoidance in wanting to flesh out emotional aspects when it comes to the girls too often. Can't have had Marcy stressing about them, can't have Anne stress about them while in LA... because reasons.
In any case, it would have helped because it would have shown that Marcy actually did think about them and where they were, she was just convinced that just waiting for them was the best solution. Which would make her dumb, not an asshole, and is overall a writing incompetency.
