Here's an idea, DC makes their own Ultimate universe that is planned from the begining to only have a 10 year lifecycle then they can reboot and start over with another 10 year Ultimate-like universe. It leaves the main continuity alone, gives easy jumping on points for new readers, will give each generation their own DC universe to latch on to and enjoy, and allows DC to continue rebooting every decade without touching the main continuity autists love.
