Huey, Dewey and Louie do have special personalities in these comics, but they’re not at all like the version of Donald’s nephews in Ducktales 2017. Often people think the Ducktales influenced them, and no at all, because Sciarrone designed like this was even before Ducktales reboot is shown in general. I think it was 2014 or 2015, but certainly before Ducktales.
I’ve read some of these comics and I can tell you that these nephews from Area 15 are more like a Quack Pack version of nephews than Nu-Ducktales, no matter what anyone thinks. There are also other versions of Donald's nephews who have special personalities, and that was stated in one children's book last year. I know that design was pretty good, but their faces are ugly.
As mentioned earlier, artists and writers for Duck comics will make their own versions that suit them, not looking at what official Disney is doing.
