The best and apparently last Hulk game ever made, it is criminal the fact that Hulk in video games after all those years (sans the shitty Norton movie game-tie-in being a trash copy of Ultimate Destruction) has been relegated to Marvel hero team-up games instead of a faithful sequel to Ultimate Destruction.

All hope is lost since the original devs, Radical Entertainment, were shut down years ago and Marvel these days will never give Hulk the solo spotlight because they can’t cash that with a movie without dealing with Universal.

Such an odd mix of violence, gore, and profanity with the Marvel universe played straight. You're in a garage throwing some mafia guy into a trash compacter and shoving goons through bandsaws, then you're shooting up thugs with Black Widow, after that you shoot up a funeral parlor, then you head to Stark Tower with Iron Man fighting in the background.

It was also the first time I heard people curse in a game that went beyond "damn." Marvel (Disney) would never allow a game like this to be come out nowadays.

The thing is that MAX doesn't take place in 616, everything is a lot more analogous to real-life shit barring the more extreme things like Fisk squishing a guy's head with his bare hands. Meanwhile, the game has Frank operating in roughly the same fantastical world that 616 is since we have The Russian, Iron Man, and Black Widow, but with a lot more gore and grime.

They made Incredible Hulk in 08, which is a weaker clone of UD sort of like how Spider-Man: The Movie: The Game was a clone of the PS1 Spidey games and Batman:Begins was a clone of Batman: Vengeance with a little Splinter Cell and Burnout mixed in.

X-Men Legends and Ultimate Alliance are two of my favorite games ever made. Pissed that the studio that made those games is disbanded and we'll never see a version set in the DCU.
Wolverine's Revenge is good shit too. Marvel Nemesis. Iron Man 2 is a guilty pleasure.So is Captain America: Super Soldier.
For DC there's Superman:Shadow of Apokolips which is Superman 64 done properly. MK vs DCU which I still hold is better than the Injustice games, and Superman Returns which is a fun Superman slice of life game.

This is from War Machine MAX. I get what you mean but it kind of makes sense that the kind of stuff going on with the Punisher happens even in the 616 stuff, they just don't show it necessarily.
The "world" is just as uncensored up as the real one presumably.

It was pretty experimental for the time but I would assume even back then it looked funky.

It was a good test run to see what worked and what didn't, and what could be improved on in time.
Unfortunately, everything is so censored nowadays including even the "mature" stuff, and writers are walking on eggshells to not get cancelled for this or that.

Raven Software still exists actually. They're Just a support studio for Call of Duty content these days.
