>>127986317They will just do other kinds of movies. It’s weird how people are so invested in wanting DC movies to “fail” and claiming all their movies are “disasters” just so they can jump on the schadenfreude train. So much of this just smells like “Marvel did it first! DC is bad because they’re “copying Marvel even though I constantly bitch about them not being like Marvel” type of cognitive dissonance.
Aquaman was a hit. Wonder Woman was a hit. Plenty of people liked both versions of Suicide Squad, the first one even making plenty of money to make it a success. Shazam was generally speaking well received. Yet all you people want to do is circle jerk about how DC is finished, DC is doomed, DC can’t do nothing right. It’s juvenile.
If you think you can only like Marvel movies why do you feel so compelled to bitch about DC movies all the time? If you claim to be a DC fan but somehow you can’t find one you like from ten DCEU films, I would really question what it is that’s so fundamentally offensive about them to you that you can’t enjoy them. Is it because you grew up with Marvel movies so your entire brain insist they have to be overtly jokey and cookie cutter made? Do you just want cartoon versions of characters? Then how is Shazam not okay to you? Marvel shits on the source material all the time but only with DC movies where they take artistic liberties for clear storytelling reasons instead of Marvel’s inherent “this is too silly we can’t make silly movies” shame of the source material for a full decade, DC at least was trying to tell stories with higher themes than “and now they fight the baddies while nobody is in any real danger because we can’t actually show people getting hurt when entire blocks get destroyed and the villains barely have any motivations or characterization and then we clap because Iron Man said a quip to kill any tension”.
