His entire schtick was being a weak nerd with a crush on Lori, and they ran that into the ground. Like every scene he was in he had to say something meek or get.a nosebleed thinking about Lori.
And then it was revealed he has two dads and now it just looked like they were trying to check all the boxes with this one character.
Thankfully they greatly dialed back with his obsession with Lori and overall improved him but the damage was done and I wish they'd send him over to the Casagrandes and bring Sid over to replace him.
Also Clyde has no real fans, people only post him positively for blacked memes.
